She was born on July 4, 1995, in Kathmandu, Nepal, and began her journey in entertainment at the age of 17 by participating in the Miss Teen Nepal pageant. Alongside her artistic endeavors, Swastima has a diploma in architectural engineering from Thapathali Campus, highlighting her academic accomplishments.

Her acting career took off with her debut in the film "Hostel Returns" (2015), where her performance earned her a nomination for the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress.
