Kathmandu — With its release date of Shrawan 22 drawing near, the production team of Hali has launched a creative and street-level promotional campaign in western Nepal that has been turning heads. Auto-rickshaws across towns in the western region of the country have been fully wrapped in the film's posters, bringing the film's imagery directly to everyday public spaces in a way that stands out from conventional digital promotion.
The campaign is generating real visibility in the regions the film is closely connected to, as Hali's story is deeply rooted in the social and cultural realities of rural western Nepal — particularly its portrayal of the Chhaupadi tradition and the hardships faced by women in remote communities.
Director Om Pratik and the production team appear to be making a concerted effort to build a grassroots audience ahead of the theatrical release, taking the film to the people rather than simply waiting for them to come to the multiplexes.
Hali stars Saroj Khanal, Aruna Karki, Arjun Gurung, Pramod Deep, Sujata Thapa, Vidya Karki, Navin Shrestha, Kanchan Dulal, Kamal Gauley, Bishal Pahari, and Om Pratik, among others. The film is produced by Pooja Gurung (Garvi) and Jasmin Shrestha through the joint banners of Japura Films Production and Shubha Chirayu Films, with executive producer Arjun Bhusal. Distribution is by National Cine Group Nepal.
Hali releases on Shrawan 22, sharing its release date with Nir Shah's Kamala Miss — setting up an interesting dual release for that weekend.
