"Sarathi" Completes Gurja Khani Schedule, Veteran Pair Uttam Pradhan and Niruta Singh Reunite After Two Decades

Kathmandu — The production of Sarathi has successfully completed its main location schedule at Gurja Khani in Myagdi, with the entire month-long shoot wrapping up on schedule from its start date of Baisakh 15. Only a single day of additional filming in Kathmandu remains before the team moves fully into post-production.

Director Kumar Gajurel confirmed the team returned to Kathmandu in high spirits after filming in the remote but breathtakingly beautiful landscapes of Myagdi. A release date will be announced once post-production is complete.

The film's most compelling draw is the reunion of veteran actors Uttam Pradhan and Niruta Singh, who are sharing the screen together for the first time in nearly two decades. The on-screen comeback of this much-loved pairing has already generated significant attention within the industry and among longtime Nepali cinema audiences.

Sarathi is a social drama that immerses itself in the cultural richness of the Gurja region, capturing traditional stone and mud architecture, the lifestyle of the Chhantiyal and Dalit communities, and the stunning scenery of the Gurja-Churen Himalayan range. According to the director, the film will also serve to highlight Gurja's tourism potential on both national and international platforms.

The cast alongside Uttam Pradhan and Niruta Singh includes Mukunda Shrestha, Rajendra KC, Giri Bishwokarma, Gayatri Joshi, Madan Thapa, Samrant Thapa, Milan Khadka, Rashmi Gurung, Kalpana Thapa, Asha Bishwokarma, Santosh Dahal, Biplab Khadka, Sagar Kandel, and Dhiren Moktan, among others. Cinematography is by Sankalpa Bhujel.

The film is a co-production of Kimbye Production and Dhiraj Infinity Films, produced by Tara Thapa "Kimbye" and Sauryal Thapa, with co-producers Dhiraj Tamang and Bek Bahadur Bishwokarma, executive producers Pradip Raymajhi and Radip Shrestha, and line producer Amir KC.
