Kathmandu — Actor Bijay Baral has suffered a fracture in his right wrist while filming an action scene for the upcoming film Sindure Jatra in Arthurdanda Khark Village, Kushma Municipality-14, Parbat District on Wednesday. The injury occurred when he lost his balance while riding a horse during a scene that was being filmed as part of a 15-day shooting schedule in the area.
Vijay received immediate treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Kushma, after which he was transported to Metro City Hospital in Pokhara for further evaluation. An X-ray confirmed the fracture, and his hand was put in plaster on Thursday, according to director Saroj Paudel.
With doctors advising at least 40 days of rest, the film's production has been completely halted for now. The shoot had originally begun on Jestha 1 with a 35-day schedule. The production team is now planning to resume the remaining shoot after Ashar 15, once the plaster is removed.
Vijay himself addressed the situation with composure: "An accident happened suddenly while working. I am currently under medical supervision and will return to work after a few weeks of rest." He also noted that his health condition may cause minor scheduling adjustments on some of his other ongoing film commitments.
Sindure Jatra is presented by Sarangi Films and stars Bijay Baral alongside Anjana Baraili, Vinod Neupane, former Miss Nepal Usha Khadgi, Bholaraj Sapkota, and Lokendra Lekhak, among others. Vijay and Anjana previously collaborated in the critically acclaimed Purnabahadurko Sarangi, and Sindure Jatra marks their second on-screen pairing.
