Dance Reality Show Winner Rista Gurung Signs for "Aa Bata Aama 2," Shoots Already Sold Out in US and Canada

Kathmandu — The cast of the highly anticipated sequel Aa Bata Aama 2 has added another name. Rista Gurung, winner of Mero Dance Universe 2, has been officially signed as one of the film's lead actresses, with her contract announced at a press conference held on Sunday by director and producer Chandra Panta.

Rista expressed genuine excitement about joining the project: "I am very happy to get the opportunity to work with such a great team."

She joins a cast that already includes Pal Shah, Aakash Shrestha, Bipana Thapa, Pradeep Rawat, Saigres Pokhrel, Gajit Bisht, and Narek Khadka, among others, making the sequel's ensemble one of the stronger lineups assembled for a Nepali film this year.

The film is a direct continuation of last year's hit Aa Bata Aama, which collected nearly Rs. 14 crore at the box office and became one of the most commercially successful Nepali films of its year. Director Chandra Panta has written the story and screenplay himself, carrying forward the emotional threads of the original.

Production is set to begin within a few weeks, with the film targeting a release on Ashoj 30, coinciding with Fulpati of Dashain. International interest has already been remarkable: the film is sold out in both the United States and Canada ahead of its theatrical run.

Distribution in Nepal will be handled by RR Films, with digital rights acquired by OSR. The film is being produced under the banner of Arya Entertainment, with Karansingh Rasali as production manager.
