Kathmandu — As its Jestha 15 release date approaches, Roll No. 1 has shared another musical gift with audiences: the folk song "Myagdi Rumale," a charming track built around the traditional Nepali dohari (question-and-answer) style of singing.
The song features vocals by composer Prashant Shiwakoti himself and popular singer Shantishri Pariyar, with lyrics by Sushma Sigdel and chorus support from Suraj Tamang, Bikas Limbu, Dibesh Rai, Deepa Suhang, Apsu Yogi, and Manma B Rai. Choreography is by Mausam Himali.
The song's lyrical content is warm and playful — a young man proposing to spend his life with a girl he loves, while she responds with affectionate caution, asking about his family situation before committing. The music video features actor Vinod Neupane and Juna Bishwokarma in a spirited folk dance sequence.
Directed by John Yonjhan with story by Mahesh Dawadi, the film addresses the psychological pressure that Nepal's ranking-obsessed education system places on children. Shot across scenic locations in Myagdi by cinematographer Shivaram Shrestha, the film stars Mukun Bhusal, Sushank Mainali, Renu Yogi, and Sirjana Adhikari, with child actors Nirbhik Regmi, Rinchen Lama, Sanyam Katuwal, and Sijal Shrestha. Produced by Vinod Paudel and Janvi Paudel, distributed by Rich Entertainment and JM Cinema both in Nepal and internationally.
