Kathmandu — Veteran filmmaker Nir Shah's much-anticipated psychological drama Kamala Miss now has an official release date. The film will hit theaters on Shrawan 22, with distribution agreements signed on Thursday with Apple Entertainment, Rich Entertainment, and FD Company.
The announcement marks a meaningful moment for Nepali cinema. Shah, who is returning to direction for the first time in nearly a decade, is one of the industry's most respected names, having delivered landmark films including Vasudev, Pachis Basanta, Rajmati, Basanti, Masan, and Seto Bagh across a distinguished career. His return to the director's chair has been one of the most anticipated events in the industry.
Kamala Miss is a psychological thriller based on a story by Vijay Malla, with screenplay and dialogues co-written by Nir Shah, Prajal Dulal, and Sugam Dulal. The film stars Nir Shah himself alongside Ramesh Budathoki, Basana Timilsina, Shivam Saraf Kshetri, Aarv Dahal, Bhawana Magar, Krishna Murari Dhungel, Sushant Kumar Shrestha, Jayant Regmi, Suresh Thapa, Rajan KC, and Sanjay Khatiwada, among others.
The film is presented by Vijay Malla Smriti Pratisthan and produced by Uma Malla, with Umesh Malla and Chaitanya Pradhan as executive producers and Pushkar Lama as line producer. Technical credits include cinematography by Shivaram Shrestha, music by Yug Bhusal, choreography by Ramji Lamichhane, and production management by Bhola Subedi, with Sagar Bohra as chief assistant director.
