I went to watch Jaari 2 with high expectations after loving the jaari, and while it didn’t quite hit the same emotional highs, it still left a strong impression. The story picks up with Dayahang Rai and Miruna Magar reprising their roles, and their chemistry is just as compelling. Rai’s portrayal of a conflicted husband caught between tradition and personal pain is especially powerful. What really stood out to me was the way the film honors Limbu culture. The chyabrung drum isn’t just a prop—it’s a heartbeat that carries the emotional weight of the story. The music and cinematography are gorgeous, and there’s a quiet poetry in how the film unfolds, even if the pacing feels slow at times.
