गोबर गणेश
Something wrong?Synopsis
The movie Gobar Ganesh is an inspiring story set in the village of Bhirkot in Nepal's Gorkha district, home to diverse ethnic groups and varying economic classes. The narrative centers on two very different families: one a prosperous family of an Indian Army veteran (Lahure) and the other a struggling family of a daily wage laborer known as Suse Lahure. After Suse’s untimely death, his widow faces immense hardship, working tirelessly just to provide basic needs. Despite the poverty, her son remains brilliant in his studies.
The plot follows three young men from these families as they complete their secondary education and move to the capital, Kathmandu, for higher studies. Sharing a single room, the three friends harbor distinct dreams but face the same harsh reality of surviving in the city. To support themselves and their ambitions, they take on vastly different roles: one works as a daily wage laborer, another finds a temporary teaching job, and the third becomes a driver.
Rejecting the idea that any work is "small," they pour their hearts into their respective jobs while continuing their education. Through relentless grit, discipline, and a refusal to give up, they transform their struggles into success. Gobar Ganesh is a powerful tribute to the dignity of labor and the triumph of the human spirit, proving that regardless of one’s beginnings, hard work can turn even the most humble circumstances into a life of greatness.
